HeadTracker
Webcam-assisted pointer control
This document describes an active experiment, not a tested assistive product or a public release.
The question
Can ordinary webcam hardware provide useful pointer control without taking control away from the person using it?
Current approach
HeadTracker separates practice from live pointer control. Movement is calibrated first, and pointer access must be enabled deliberately before the application can affect the desktop.
Next test
Run a supervised trial with real users, document accidental movement, and tune the dead zone and dwell behavior from observed use.
